In my continuing quest to bring you the best of the music you've never heard, I give you the favorite sons of Oklahoma... The Flaming Lips!
As always, if you enjoy the music you hear on the Sciolist, please support the artists with your patronage.
The Jefferson Hour
Submitted by Sal on Tue, 09/11/2007 - 01:18.There are few good things about a weekly 10 hour round trip commute between my home and my apartment. But, one thing that that it has given me is time, time to listen. From Books such as Guns, Germs and Steel to radio programs such as 'Piano Jazz' and most interestingly 'The Jefferson Hour'. TJH is best described by it's homepage...
The goal of each of The Thomas Jefferson Hour® programs is to tease out the truth of each topic in the tradition of Thomas Jefferson - the founding father educated in Enlightenment ideals and considered by many to be the visionary of the founding of our nation.
Humanities scholar and author, Clay S. Jenkinson, adopts the persona of Jefferson each week to comment on current events and answer questions you may have about Jefferson's thoughts on any and all topics. Clay has portrayed Thomas Jefferson for more than two decades. He is the recipient of the National Endowment for the Humanities highest award, then called the Charles Frankel Award, for his humanities-based first person interpretation methodology.
I highly suggest swinging by The Jefferson Hour website and taking a listen to a few of the programs. Let me know what you think.
