Not totally random Kelly. There is a daily banter that goes on between Phel and myself. The audio post I made was both to increase the breadth of musical styles I've put on this site and as a mild commentary on the mood of the nation following the VT event.
The Cash version is a derivative of the Nine Inch Nails original, and the natural progression on the run away train that is the mind of Phelonius is the Kermit version. It takes a bit to settle into the mind of a madman but I've had plenty of time to practice on myself. In comparison, Phel is easy to understand.
I was just not in the best of moods when I made those comments. Sal, I have to deal with 4 kids (24/7) who don't get to live with their parents because the parents are drug users. It was not that I was being sensitive to Kermit, but to the issue.
I understand the banter between you and James...and that is cool. I just wanted you to know where that comment came from.
I think most people have been touched to lesser and greater degrees by drugs. (Just today I got a call that there may be a problem with my security clearance, as my twice convicted drugie ex stole my identity while I was out of the country to get, run up, then abandon a phone line in my name. This could cost me a profitable job and potential career path) My current situation (thankfully) isn't a very intimate one, but we are all collections of past experiences, some rather dark.
I seem to be rambling here a bit, suffice to say, that the way I react to absurd behavior is absurd humor. Be it my own religion, personal failings or crimes against humanity my reaction tends to be to joke about it. Phelonious seems to operate much the same way.
That all being said... I didn't much like the video either. :P
